Demographics & Culture

        Pallapatti is a semi-town located in central Tamilnadu in India. It is located in between Karur. The population is about 40000     people among which more than 99% of the people follow Islam. There are about seventeen mosques in this place. Pallapatti is    sorrounded by the river Nan Kanchi on both west and east borders. Most of the people here form a big business community all around the india.

Climate

       The highest temperature is obtained in early May to early June usually about 34 °C, though it rarely exceeds 38 °C for a few days. Average daily temperature during January is around 23 °C, though the temperature rarely falls below 17 °C.

The average annual rainfall is about 855 mm. The city gets most of its seasonal rainfall from the north-east monsoon winds, from late September to mid November.

Festivals

           Ramzan and Bakr-Id are the festivals that greatly celebrated here. People use to gather in 'Eidgah' to perform the Salat al Eid (Eid prayers) for Eid ul-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

          Those who stays in different part of the country also use to take part in these celebrations with their family.

          One of the other Local festival which celebrated here for more then week is Shiaikh Abdul Kadir Oli-ul-ah Uruse, This festival celebrate at evening to till Morning 3 O'clock, Much of Temporary Shops and Amusements Setup for this festival, This festival only entertainment for Pallapatti.

Highlights

· As 99% of people are Muslims, Islamic codes and Values are highly maintained.

· No Theater or Wine-shop inside the town

· Most of the Education Institutions and Offices remain holiday on Friday.

· Biriyani recipe is very common and very laudable.

· Delicious Sweet Boondi(also known as "cheru-mittai" in the locality) is a standard Pallapatti sweet made with ghee.
